Verification should describe what evidence was checked, what source supported the conclusion, what limitations remain and the date or context to which the result applies. A verification result is evidence for a decision-maker; it does not replace the legal authority, admissions office, employer, regulator, licensing board, ministry or other receiving institution that makes the final decision.

Use the result as one input

Employers, universities, regulators and other institutions can use a verification report as part of their own due-diligence process. Their final decision should follow their internal policy and applicable law.

Check whether the report answers your question

A credential-authenticity check does not necessarily answer equivalence, licensing or competence questions. The receiving institution should match the scope of the verification to the decision it needs to make.

Retain an audit trail

Where appropriate, keep the report reference, verification date and any update history so a later reviewer can understand what was checked at the time.

Evidence and decision boundaries

EIFVS can document what was checked and what the available evidence supports. It cannot bind an external university, employer, regulator, ministry, court, licensing authority or other institution. If a specific destination requires a particular legalisation, apostille, equivalence assessment, translation, licensing step or direct institutional transmission, confirm that requirement with the receiving body.

Questions worth asking before submission

What exact claim needs verification?

Which primary or authoritative source can support it?

Is the result time-sensitive or dependent on current standing?

Does the receiving institution require a particular format or verification channel?

Are there privacy or consent restrictions on the source data?

Other guides in this verification area

What this verification actually meansDocuments and evidence to prepareHow the verification workflow worksHow evidence quality is assessedPrivacy, consent and secure handlingCommon red flags and avoidable problems

Use the right verification route

Review the relevant EIFVS service page, then start an application only when the verification question and required evidence are clear.

Related EIFVS serviceStart an ApplicationContact EIFVS

EIFVS decision guide about How institutions can use the result for Evidence Grades & Verification Methodology, with evidence, privacy, verification-scope and receiving-institution boundaries.

["post-275","eifvs_guide","type-eifvs_guide","status-publish","hentry
["GET
