Evidence Grades & Verification Methodology — How the verification workflow works
Practical guidance for applicants, institutions and decision-makers who need a clear, evidence-based verification process.
Evidence Grades & Verification Methodology concerns evidence hierarchy, source quality, corroboration, limitations and scoring methodology. Verification should describe what evidence was checked, what source supported the conclusion, what limitations remain and the date or context to which the result applies. A verification result is evidence for a decision-maker; it does not replace the legal authority, admissions office, employer, regulator, licensing board, ministry or other receiving institution that makes the final decision.
Define the question first
A strong request starts with a specific question: what exactly needs to be verified, for whom, for what type of use and against which records or sources? Vague requests create ambiguous results.
Check evidence and source consistency
Records are reviewed for internal consistency and, where possible, compared with authoritative or independent source information. Differences in names, dates, titles, status or identifiers should be resolved or clearly noted.
Issue a bounded result
The output should state the supported conclusion and its boundaries. If information remains unresolved, the result should say so rather than converting uncertainty into a positive or negative claim.
Evidence and decision boundaries
EIFVS can document what was checked and what the available evidence supports. It cannot bind an external university, employer, regulator, ministry, court, licensing authority or other institution. If a specific destination requires a particular legalisation, apostille, equivalence assessment, translation, licensing step or direct institutional transmission, confirm that requirement with the receiving body.

- Which primary or authoritative source can support it?
- Is the result time-sensitive or dependent on current standing?
- Does the receiving institution require a particular format or verification channel?
- Are there privacy or consent restrictions on the source data?
